HERE'S WHAT TO DO STARTING FROM TORBOLE SUL GARDA
Even if only for a weekend, we assure you that you will manage to love our "busa" (Italian for "hole"). It makes one smile as a nickname, but I believe that you too will eventually find this "hole" that is Garda-Trentino, wonderful for a thousand reasons.
Here is a "touch and go" idea. , which, however, you will not miss anything, believe me.
THURSDAY AFTERNOON: by bike to riva del Garda about 5km, climb up to Bastione.
The bike path that connects Torbole to Riva del Garda always runs along the lake, it's about 5km to ride leisurely, enjoying the scenery and if you feel like it make a stop at the beach to dive into the lake. Pedal up to the Apponale Tower in the center of Piazza III Novembre, park your bicycles and choose whether you would like to climb the Tower with its 165 steps and 34 meters in height or prefer to admire the view from an even higher point the "Bastion," which can be conveniently reached by the new panoramic elevator. We assure you that you will be able to take perfect photos, which you should definitely share with us at Glocal as well. If you don't want to get right back on your bike, don't miss the chance to get a little lost in the narrow streets of downtown Riva del Garda, enjoy the best ice cream at ETA BETA.
You can end the day with an aperitif in Torbole, a drink at WIND'S bar is a must if you have been to Torbole, and for dinner....make yourself comfortable and sit on the veranda at Ristorante Onda by Hotel Baia Azzurra.
SATURDAY: by boat from Torbole to Limone and Malcesine.
To see all the beauty of Lake Garda, you have to look at it standing on it...since you can't walk on the water, we recommend the boat. On the Navigazione Laghi website you will find the always up-to-date schedule. https://www.navigazionelaghi.it/biglietti-e-orari-lago-di-garda/
Starting from the pier in Torbole about 800m from Hotel Glocal (about 10 minutes) you will arrive in Limone in about 40 minutes. Seeing the rocks sinking directly into the waters of the lake, following the stunts done with Kitesurfing and Wingfoil, the speed of Windsurfing sails and the elegance of sailboats ... will be exciting.
When you arrive in Limone enjoy the view of lemonades and the thousand colors of the houses overlooking the bay.
Keep a couple of hours for a stroll, but keep an eye on the time to catch the boat that will take you to Malcesine, on the western shore of Lake Garda.
You'll be able to take pictures of the magnificent castle high above the lake, which towers over Malcesine and dominates the lake as it once did.
The small village of Malcesine is made up of little alleys going up and down, stores and restaurants waiting to be discovered. If you want to treat yourself to a 100% "made in Italy" and stylish garment, stop by Anime, our friend Michele is waiting for you.
When you arrive here you can decide whether to board the last boat that will take you back to Torbole or to stop in Malcesine even for dinner and return by Taxi (about 30/40 euros).
SUNDAY MORNING: bike along the Sarca River and walk up to Arco Castle.
The bike path from Torbole to Arco is wonderful, 6 km easy and pleasant along the Sarca River.
Once in Arco, park your bikes in the center and continue on foot. It takes about 20 minutes to climb, among olive trees and Mediterranean vegetation.
If you are thirsty on arrival, there is a small bar in the large lawn at the entrance to the castle.
Inside the castle you can see parts of the surrounding walls, the stone prison and the big tower. Fourteenth-century frescoes depicting ladies playing chess are still visible. From up there the view is wonderful, your Instagram profile will be overjoyed.
